Exploring Pembrokeshire: Crafting Your Ideal 3-Day Itinerary

The perfect way to explore Pembrokeshire during a short stay

Exploring Pembrokeshire

So, you’re planning a short holiday to Pembrokeshire and want to make sure that you have the perfect stay?

Well, we could spend weeks exploring Pembrokeshire and still find more to do, but we have put together the perfect 3-day itinerary.

It’s perfect for guests who are visiting but have limited time off. We’ve done our best to make sure there’s plenty of time to appreciate the natural beauty as well as get a good blend of adventure and relaxation.

Your ideal 3-day itinerary for Pembrokeshire Holidays

Day 1:

Of course, the perfect short holiday would start at the lovely Seaborne House. Not only does it offer room for everybody and laidback luxury, but it’s also ideally situated in the picturesque coastal town of Newport, Pembrokeshire.

So assuming you’ve started nice and early, we’d recommend getting breakfast at Pwnc Cafe in the town. Not only is there a good variety of foods on offer, but it’s also a fantastic place to eat. Also - if you have little ones on holiday, they can even enjoy the climbing wall there to burn off a little of the holiday excitement.

We’d recommend spending the day exploring the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Be warned, the entire path is long but it’s split up into more manageable sections. Although you’ll still need some comfy walking shoes. You’ll get spectacular views of rugged cliffs, hidden coves and sweeping beaches. It’s up to you whether you choose to settle down at your favourite beach on the walk or explore as much of the coast as possible.

To celebrate a fantastic day, we would recommend eating at The Canteen back in Newport. They serve fantastic pizza which you’ll have definitely worked up the appetite for! And the great thing about them is that you can take the pizzas to go if you want to get back to Seaborne House!

Day 2:

Today, it’s time to indulge in a mix of adventure and cultural experiences. But first - it’s time for breakfast. It’s up to you whether you call in at Blas at Fronlas for a full breakfast or you grab a pastry to go from a local cafe.

The Pembrokeshire Coast is ideal for water sports! Now it depends on whether you’d prefer a more tranquil morning of paddleboarding or are after some thrill-seeking adventure. Or perhaps it might be a fun idea to try coasteering which presents another chance to explore the coast in a different way.

Once you’re warm and dry from your morning adventures it’s on to more things to do. For history enthusiasts, a visit to the ancient Nevern Castle and St. Brynach's Church is a must. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a charming café, savouring locally sourced ingredients and traditional Welsh delicacies. Or perhaps you could explore the quaint streets of Newport, discovering art galleries, boutique shops, and the vibrant local market. Wind down your day with a relaxing spa treatment or a tranquil walk on the beach, taking in the stunning sunset.

Day 3:

On your final day, immerse yourself in the natural beauty and culinary delights of Newport. Begin your morning with a leisurely stroll through the nearby Newport Parrog, a nature reserve with diverse wildlife and breathtaking coastal scenery.

If you're up for an adventure, embark on a boat trip to spot seals and dolphins in their natural habitat. For lunch, indulge in a sumptuous seafood feast at one of the acclaimed seafood restaurants in the area, savouring the freshest catches of the day.

In the afternoon, join a guided foraging tour to discover the edible treasures of the region, accompanied by an expert guide who will teach you about local flora and fauna. End your day with a cosy bonfire on the beach, toasting marshmallows and reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences of your Newport getaway.
