There’s a reason why Pembrokeshire is the destination of many UK holidaymakers. There are attractions suited for history lovers, families and even for those looking to get a little sea air!
We’ve put together our favourite places to visit in Pembrokeshire. All are within 90 minutes of Seaborne House. With the longest travelling time to Skomer island, which includes a boat trip!

1. Medieval Pottery Kiln in Newport Memorial Hall (2 minute walk)
Excavated in 2017, it’s believed to be the oldest kiln that’s still intact in the whole of the UK!
2. Ty Twt (2 minute walk)
A toy museum that’s located just a walk away from the house. It even has toys that are over 100 years old.
3. Pwnc Café & Climbing Walls (3 minute walk)
Not only do you get fantastic and fresh food, but there’s also a climbing wall for those looking for a different dining experience.
4. Carn Ingli Centre and Artiques (3 minute walk)
It’s a wonderful place for antique collectors, boasting over 10,000 second-hand books and other antique collectables. There’s even a gallery for local artists to promote their work.

5. Parrog Beach (6 minutes)
A beautiful beach that’s dog friendly. There’s ample parking close by and access to food including Coney Island ice cream van. Here you’ll even get dog-friendly ice cream.
6. Carningly Mountain (6 minutes)
It’s a great place for history lovers and hikers alike. It features prehistoric and historic remains and offers a 360-degree view of Pembrokeshire at the peak!
7. Aberfforest Woods – mentioned in the Mabinogi (6 minutes)
Not only is this place mentioned in the Mabinogion books (Welsh folk stories), but it’s a really beautiful place. The walk down to the waterfall is relatively easy having walked it with a toddler and someone with bad knees.
8. Bluestone Brewing Company (8 minutes from Seaborne)
A great place to visit for anybody who enjoys craft beers. The aim of this microbrewery is to create sustainable beers that are eco-friendly. They often put on events, so be sure to keep an eye out!
9. Newport Sands – Traeth Mawr (8 minutes)
The Welsh name for Newport Sands (Traeth Mawr) translated is ‘Big Beach’. It earns this name because it’s the largest beach at Newport, offering almost a mile-long stretch of sand. There’s also a golf course close by which offers amazing views of the bay.

10. Cwm-yr-Eglwys (8 minutes)
This stunning sandy cove is a great beach for those with kids.
They’ll love exploring the rock pools and braving the waves. It’s a very popular beach for boat owners too as there’s a boating club.
11. Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (10 minutes)
A great place to visit with adults and children alike. It’s an iron age village set in a stunning backdrop which features woodland, meadows and rivers.
12. Pwllgwaelod Beach (10 minutes)
This beautiful cove features an expanse of dark sand. It’s really beautiful and a popular destination for holidaymakers.
13. Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (11 minutes)
A perfect place to visit for history lovers as it features a Neolithic tomb. Although truth be told, it’s pretty spectacular to see in real life so it’s well worth a visit by anybody.

14. Pengelli Forest – Nature reserve (14 minutes)
This forest is full of beautiful flowers and plants.
It’s frequented often by birdwatchers who love viewing the variety of species the forest is home to.
15. Ty Canol Woods - Nature Reserve (13 minutes)
This nature reserve boasts the title for the largest block of ancient woodland in West Wales. This ancient woodland is loved by bird watchers, historians, artists, and scientists alike.
16. Abercych – mentioned in the Mabinogi (23 minutes)
It’s mentioned in the Welsh legends of the Mabinogi. It’s a small village located in Pembrokeshire which has plenty of charms and appeals to those looking to experience rural Welsh life.
17. Welsh Wildlife Centre (25 minutes)
With many different trails for all abilities, it’s a great spot for pretty much any holidaymaker. It also boasts an adventure playground to keep the kids happy.
18. Strumble Head (31 minutes)
Many people come to Strumble Head to go on whale, seal or dolphin-watching excursions. However, walking the coastal path alone is beautiful for anybody looking to take in the coastal scenery.

19. Tresaith Beach (32 minutes)
A great spot for those loving water sports as there are great spots to surf or sail.
There are also many lovely rockpools and a beautiful waterfall on the cliffside.
20. Preseli Hills (35 minutes)
Sometimes called Preseli Mountains, these hills have a lot of legends and myths about them. This is because these scenic high hills were once inhabited by ancient people who left their mark on the land.
21. Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm (36 minutes)
Well worth a view if you aren’t afraid of bugs. It’s a different activity for you to view the wildflowers and learn more about creepy crawlies.
22. Abereiddy Beach (37 minutes)
This beach is famous for being full of beautiful tiny fossils and black sands. It’s a great spot for coasteering and cliff climbing.
23. Penbryn Beach (37 minutes)
This beach is a great spot for enjoying the sandy beach and walking along the woods to the beautiful cliffs.

24. Blue Lagoon (38 minutes)
Located near the Abereiddy hamlet, it’s a natural pool that people often leap into. Be warned, it can be very cold! However, it’s well worth a visit if you’re coming to Pembrokeshire.
25. St Davids Cathedral (39 minutes)
The cathedral has been considered a holy spot as it was visited by William the conqueror nearly a century ago.
26. Camp Hill – as mentioned in the Mabinogi (42 minutes)
Another location in Pembrokeshire that was referenced in the Mabinogi tales. It has plenty of footpaths and walks for those looking to explore.
27. Whitesands Bay (43 minutes)
This is probably best known for its beautiful craggy hills that impose onto the beach. It’s a white sand beach that stretches out towards St David’s Head.
28. Wild Lakes Wales- formerly Pembrokeshire Wake Park (45 minutes)
An absolutely brilliant spot for those looking to get a taste of Welsh adventure. There are many water sports offered, from an inflatable aqua park to wakeboarding, it’s a spot not to be missed.
29. Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (47 minutes)
Folly farm is a well-known location that local people love to visit. It’s expanded and grown with the times and now features a vintage fun fair, many indoor play areas and a Zoo full of animals.
30. Colby Woodland Garden – National Trust (50 minutes)
The woodland garden is a beautiful spot for heritage hunting and natural play. It’s known for its industrial past and being a secret walled garden.

31. Carew Castle and Tidal Mill (51 minutes)
Carew Castle has a long history containing stories of many knights, kingmakers, and even Civil war devastation.
32. Laugharne Castle (52 minutes)
Laugharne is mentioned by the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Its castle was beloved by him and even featured in some of his written work.
33. Manor Wildlife Park (54 minutes)
A great place to visit in Pembrokeshire for those that love animals. There is even an opportunity for experiences like feeding a Wallaby.
34. Pembroke Castle (54 minutes)
The great thing about this beautiful medieval castle is they actually offer free guided tours. This makes the place well worth visiting as you get to hear more about the fascinating history of the castle.
35. Tenby (59 minutes)
One of Pembrokeshire’s well-known seaside towns, it’s definitely worth a visit. It started off as a pretty historic fishing village, however, now a popular tourist destination too.
36. Tudor Merchant’s House (1 hour)
The 15th-century merchant’s house (located in Tenby) offers a glimpse back 500 years to see how the Tudor merchant and his family lived. Great choice of place to visit for history lovers.

37. Marloes Sands (1 hour 2 minutes)
One of Pembrokeshire’s hidden gems. It’s a stunning peninsula that offers stunning seaside views and a range of wildlife to enjoy.
38. Skrinkle Haven Beach (1 hour 4 minutes)
For lovers of geology, it’s well worth a visit. It has limestone and red sandstone to enjoy, and you can even see the famous Church Door cove.
39. Bosherston Lily Ponds (1 hour 6 minutes)
The lily ponds are a stunning place to walk on a mild weathered day. They’ve been famous within Wales for their spectacular display of waterlilies and resident otters who are often spotted.
40. Skomer Island (1 hour 6 minutes, then a boat ride)
This nature reserve is well worth the extra travelling time. Located less than a mile from the Pembrokeshire coast, it’s described as the ‘ultimate wildlife adventure’. It’s even home to Puffins during their breeding Season (April – July).
